Spaces Magazine covers Spirit of Place design/build project

Here's an article by Ar. Bansri Pandey and Chief Editor, Uday Sunder Shrestha

At the center, a rocky bed protects a grave made of glass with the intent that you can look inside to see a dark pit to remember the ancestors who have been buried there, yet also reflect into the sky to look forward to the future. The glass tomb reminds of the sacred metaphor amongst Magars that ancestors symbolically watch over the community.

The project at its core has been about developing an innovative modern architectural language for Nepal.

I tried opening the link to the story on Spaces magazine; it came up with an error message saying the story might have been moved. Nevertheless, impressed with the project!

Hi Utsav,

Thanks for your note. It does seem to have moved- I will scan the article and post it later.

Here's another link in the global architecture forum- http://www.archdaily.com/148376/memorial-to-the-ancestors-spirit-of-place-spirit-of-design/finshed-design-19/
